Anyone who is free to get married, can legally marry at Crear!​​

Where ever you live in the world, you are welcome to marry in Scotland and are not required to be in residence prior to your marriage ceremony. 

You may require a Marriage Visa to enter the UK.

​​​​​Scotland offers you a wide choice of marriage celebrants and ceremonies which are legal and recognised worldwide including Civil, Humanist, Pagan, Interfaith, Catholic and Church of Scotland.

All celebrants with the exception of the Catholic Church, would be delighted to marry you outside.

If you are having a religious or belief marriage, then you are required to collect the paperwork in person during office hours from Lochgilphead.

 If you are having a civil marriage then the registrars will bring the paperwork with them on the day.

All payments are made directly to the Registrar and your celebrant of choice.

Our local Humanist Celebrants, are always willing to go that extra mile. Naming ceremonies for children is also a lovely way to conclude your marriage to include all your family wee ones.

I was a Paramedic for the last 29 years. I have been a humanist celebrant now since 2016 and love every single second of it.

David has been the minister at South Knapdale Parish Church at Achahoish since leaving his work as a scientist. The church was built in 1775 and is the only continuously used Church in Argyll.

David welcomes couples from all denominations and would be delighted to marrry you inside his church or in the Great Highland Cathedral, down on the beach at Crear.

Divorcées from all Christian denominations are free to remarry in the Church of Scotland. 

Catholics getting remarried in a Civil or Church of Scotland ceremony may welcome Father Henry to give their marriage a Catholic blessing.

The Scottish Episcopal Church is diverse in its tradition, outlook and culture.  

Firmly rooted in the life of Scotland and part of its rich history, the Scottish Episcopal Church is also deeply committed to its membership of the world-wide Anglican Communion, which is a family of over 70 million Christians in more than 160 countries.

The Scottish Episcopal Church is known as a Province of the Anglican Communion.  

Equal (same-sex) marriages are recognised and divorcées from all Christian denominations are free to remarry in the Scottish Episcopal Church.

I am one of a handful of Celebrants in Scotland holding a licence from the National Records Office of Scotland to conduct a legally-binding Pagan wedding ceremony. These can be written to order to obtain an individual ceremony that reflects your requirements and spiritual beliefs and you don't have to follow a Pagan path to use my services.

There are many local churches of different demoninations, so please contact us directly for further information. You are also very welcome to invite your own celebrant.

Circumstances may dictate that you are already legally married on your wedding day. All the celebrants would be delighted to give a service of blessing that would appear to be the actual marriage. We have witnessed numerous ceremonies conducted by many celebrants including Interfaith and Pagan. Your available options are too numerous to list here, however please don't hesitate to ask us for advice.
