Where did you and both meet?

We met in a bar in Edinburgh through a mutual friend - I worked with her and Ali had gone to school with her. We then didn’t speak for a year before we starting chatting and went on our first date. Little did we know that there was a picture taken of us together on the first day we met and when we started dating a friend sent it to us!

Where was your stunning dress from?
It was by Enzoani and I got it from La Novia in Edinburgh. They made some alterations to make it exactly what I envisioned my dress to be including the appliqué on the straps. This was also one of my favourite parts of wedding planning- my mum and I spent a week going round shops trying on lots and lots of dresses! We were sad when it was over as it was such a fun experience!

And Ali’s outfit?
The kilt tartan was Midnight Pride and was hired from McCalls of Edinburgh. We bought the tie in the tartan so that Ali could wear it again in the future and remind us of our special day.

What was your favourite part of the day?

This is a tricky question as we would say just the whole day! One of our fave bits was jumping in our photographer’s 4x4 and going down to the beach for photos! When we got back in the car to go back up to Crear House, it kept stalling over a mound of sand and me, Ali, Gavin our photographer and our best man, Chris were all in hysterics and yelling rev!! Gavin got us back no problem though!
I also loved how calm the morning was getting ready and my Mum helping me into my dress and although I was nervous, it was also one of my favourite bits walking down the aisle with my proud Dad.

Did you have a theme/colour scheme for the day?
I love neutrals so the theme was white and gold with a splash of blush pink for the bridesmaids dresses. I love bright and airy spaces which is one reason we chose Crear and I don’t know what we did to get wall to wall sunshine on our wedding day! Both times we’d visited Crear before it had poured but it was clearly just waiting to show off the gorgeous scenery and blue skies on our wedding day! As one of our guests said ‘I love it when Scotland shows off!’.

How far did your guests travel?
From all over the UK- from London and Bristol to Sheffield and Edinburgh. We had one special guest from the USA, my fourth bridesmaid, who flew all the way to Edinburgh but unfortunately caught covid the day before our wedding so couldn’t be there.

What did you do the day after the wedding?
The groomsmen cooked us all bacon rolls for breakfast before we spent the afternoon on the beach in the sun with our family and bridal party. In the evening we all had drinks round a bonfire on the beach, watching the gorgeous Crear sunset.

Did you guys go on honeymoon afterwards?
We went to Paris for a mini moon the weekend after our wedding and we went to the Maldives 3 months after our wedding. It was just the dream- no words can do it justice!
