FROM A CHURCH ON THE HILL TO CREAR ON THE HILL - THE MARRIAGE OF CATHERINE AND NEIL 

We met in glasgow - our first date was at the pub called Church on the Hill.

We loved the whole day!
Waking up to the view. Our ceremony at the wall (Although it was very windy).
The amazing food and the relaxed vibe at the meal. 
I think my favourite thing was being able to bring all our friends and family to such a special little corner of Scotland - and celebrate with them. 

We didn’t have a theme - but just wanted it to be relaxed and whimsical and personal to us and our guests.
We had some small touches to travel (wrote all our guests a postcard of somewhere we had been with them or somewhere that reminded us of them).
Our table names were Scottish beaches that we have been to together. 

Most guests were from Scotland. But had some guests from London, New York and Australia. 

Neil loves the hills and Munro’s and I love the remote Scottish coast. We have had lots of lovely Scottish trips - got engaged on Skye. Have done a lovely trip up to the north west coast where we climbed Suilven near Lochinver. Also love all the Scottish beaches - Auchmelvich, Durness, Sandwood bay etc
And of course now will always love Crear and alsolutely love the beach at Crear and have been swimming there a few times. 

We did a swim in the sea the morning after the wedding with some of our wedding party.
And had a bbq that day with a lot of our guests.

 

A HOMEMADE WEDDING CAKE MADE BY MUMS PLURAL!

The stunning Wedding Cake was literally a cake of two halves - made with love by both Catherine's and Neil's mothers.
For the base layer, Neil's Mum, Aileen made a delicious fruit cake.
Catherine's Mum, Grace making the top layer and the beautiful icing with pressed flowers.

 


WEDDING IDEAS TO BORROW

Canapes

Whipped goats cheese on oat biscuit with baked fig and heather honey
Confit potato, truffle mash, parmesan gratin
Crispy langoustine croquette with shellfish essence
Crispy haggis balls with Arran mustard mayo


Starter
Seared sea bass with lobster and chorizo champ with a light pea velouté 

Intermediate
Goats cheese agnolotti with forest vegetables, celeriac puree and essence of tomato

Main
Crear’s world famous beef wellington with seasonal potatoes, glazed root vegetables and rich red wine jus

Dessert
A flavour of chocolate – hot dark chocolate fondant, milk chocolate and Jura whisky ganache and white chocolate ice cream with chocolate tuille

Catherine and Neil from Glasgow hosted their magical floral filled wedding at Crear, joined by over eighty guests who travelled from London, New York, Australia and Glasgow to be with them.
