Crear House & Studio - Space to Create

Crear is a purpose built conversion with an emphasis on comfort & warmth. With warm slate & solid oak floors, it's warm & cosy at any time of year. The house has the qualities of the Tardis - it can be small & intimate while expanding when required to accommodate your wedding guests.

The Crear studio is in the heart of the house with panoramic views from the 60-foot glass wall to the Paps of Jura, bringing the outside in whatever the weather.

We are all excited to help with your creative ideas - as long as they are legal & leave the ceiling & walls in their beautiful white state!

Crear House

Crear becomes your home from home for your entire wedding stay. With exclusive use, you & your guests can enjoy complete privacy in warm & stylish surroundings, with uninterupted views to the Isles of Islay, Jura & Gigha, & the lighthouses of Rathlin Island. The Crear team are always only a phone call away for anything you require.

Squashy sofas in the living room, an open fire, crispy white linen sheets on really comfy beds & a very special team of people looking after you, located within a rich prehistoric landscape, all help make Crear magical.

Crear Studio

If you can imagine the studio space is larger than a tennis court with far reaching views to the Paps of Jura through a glass wall over twenty metres long.

With underfloor heating over a solid oak floor, its always cosy & warm at any time of the year with the huge expanses of glass allowing the outside in, whatever the weather.

The studio measures 17.9m long x 10.29m across with five beams across.

If you are looking for total freedom to host your wedding your way, Crear is space to create your perfect day.

Crear House sleeps twelve guests

We can sleep twelve guests in Crear itself in six outstanding en-suite rooms which are all completely individual in their design. All the beds have super comfortable mattresses, with super soft down duvets & feather pillows.

We have several pop up beds for children under twelve years of age & travel cots for babies which can be used both at Crear House & Caisealrag Cottage.

A further six guests can be accommodated in three en-suite rooms in Caisealrag Cottage at Crear. (Please note that Caisealrag is booked independantly so is subject to availability.)

Crear House Bathrooms

Each bath or shower room has its own large hot water storage tank, ensuring a plentiful supply when everyone is getting ready at once.

Underfloor heating is throughout the house, with the bathrooms programmed to be extra cosy.

We have an abundance of white fluffy bath sheets & towels, hairdryers & a supply of anything else that you may have left behind! Housekeeping is available at any time on request.

Places to stay for all your guests

We can recommend places for your guests to stay to work with every request & budget. We suggest you send our Crear Wedding map so its clear where they are coming to.

Within walking distance the Port Ban Holiday Park can accommodate upto eighty guests depending on the time of year.

We work closely with Barnlongart House sleeping 12 & Keepers Cottage sleeping 6 who offer a three night break enabling your family & friends to stay together in another house party.

The Creation of Crear

Crear is a purpose built renovation from an old farm steading in 2000 to a space to create, aimed at facilitating artists, writers, dancers & musicians. The doors officially opened in 2002 with a recital following the first recording on Crear Classics. As the guests left many asked when the next event would be & Crear Concerts began.

When some musicians working at Crear asked if they could marry here, that was the beginning of Crear Weddings.

Crear really is space to create your perfect wedding day, while supporting the charity Space to Create with over a 100 days a year of creatives in residence.
